The Meaning of Mindfulness
Mindfulness refers to a state of being completely present in the present moment, with acceptance and without judgement. Mindfulness is omnipresent – a fundamental aspect of being human – that has been nurtured and practiced for over 2,600 years in multiple cultures all over the world. Mindfulness practice benefits many psychological and physical states, as well as has measurable positive effects on the brain. Due to its benefits, mindfulness is increasingly being integrated into education, medicine, and the workplace to bring about reductions in depression symptoms, reducing stress, anxiety, pain and in the treatment of drug addiction.
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) combines mindfulness practices with cognitive therapy to help you better understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. It can be helpful for managing stress, anxiety, low mood, and recurring patterns of negative thinking. MBCT supports greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and a more balanced response to life’s challenges.
Individual Psychotherapy
Individual psychotherapy offers a confidential and supportive space to explore the thoughts, emotions, relationships, and experiences that may be affecting your well-being. Therapy is tailored to your individual needs and goals, helping you develop greater self-understanding, healthier coping strategies, and practical tools for creating meaningful change.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a structured, evidence-informed approach to managing stress and improving overall well-being. Through mindfulness meditation, body awareness, and gentle movement, you can learn to respond to stress with greater awareness rather than feeling overwhelmed by it. MBSR can help cultivate calm, resilience, self-compassion, and a greater sense of balance in everyday life.
Addiction Counselling
Addiction counselling provides compassionate, confidential, and non-judgmental support for individuals experiencing challenges related to substance use or addictive behaviours. Counselling can help you understand patterns of use, identify underlying concerns, develop healthier coping strategies, and work toward greater stability and well-being. Whether you are considering a change, working toward recovery, or seeking support along the way, counselling can provide a safe space to move forward.
